In the Old Testament, there were many reasons and times the people needed the comfort of God.

The greatest way God brought comfort was through:

#1. His promises of what he was going to do.

#2. The community of faith - his people; he commanded them over and over to gather together.

God's comfort is here now. Paul tells us if we share in the sufferings of Christ, we also share in the comfort of God, like Jesus experienced.

God's: Promises, Participation, and Presence.

If you are going through hardship, you are invited to just sit in his presence, resting in him.

"Overwhelm us in your presence, Lord."
